a sustainable christmas gift guide no.2

gift guide no.2

Following on from my first sustainable and planet friendly gift guide, comes guide no.2. These items are higher price pointed, with larger sets and bundles to luxury names. So, if you’ve been searching for those kinds of pieces to get ticked off from your list then I hope these items help you, or even inspire you to gift yourself!

I’ve once again picked out items I’d love to gift or receive, so some real personal favourites. The guide features some brands that I’ve used myself and love like Summer Fridays, and some I would LOVE to try and to my wardrobe and home.

Just an FYI – You can check all fabric/material compilations and each brands ethos on all of their websites to know exactly what your buying.

I absolutely love the sound of eucalyptus silk, I came across this company whilst putting this guide together and was fascinated. We all know and have heard the wonders silk bedding can do for our hair and skin, and Ethical Bedding have created bedding using organic eucalyptus silk which keeps you in the ideal temperature zone all night. Not only that, it’s hypo-allergic and super soft. They also have pillows to duvets made from bamboo which is amazing if you’re on the hunt for new cosiness yourself!

I’m pretty sure you knew this was coming, you know I love a classic coat, be it a black number or camel. It’s every wardrobes staple and makes a perfect gift for a loved one that they can wear year upon year. This beautiful long length tailored coat from House of Dagmar is as timeless as it gets. Their Anissa coat is cut from their eco-conscious and recycled wool blend. This is for sure a coat I would love to add to my wardrobe.

gowns

Made from organic cotton terry comes this super luxurious cosy gown. Tekla have bought all the snuggly feels alongside chic with this stripe pattern, and you know how much I love a stripe. Such a perfect gift to bring that luxury feeling into someone’s daily routine.

Self-care at its finest, Costa Brazil is a brand that I’m on the edge of my seat to try. They focus on creating sustainable and clean products that also promotes restoration. One of their best sellers being their bath salt, it eases tension, softens and de-puffs skin and calms the mind – what an absolute dream!

skincare

Vegan and clean skincare brand Summer Fridays have a limited-edition Vault Set which includes their infamous Jet Lag Mask, Lip Butter, Serum and much more. A personal favourite of mine, which would make a fantastic gift for an avid skincare lover or even introducing the brand to a newbie!

This is something I want to introduce more of into my home – cleaner candles, I can’t go without lighting a candle every evening to wind down so this one’s a new must for me, Evermore. Sarah Bell, the founder, has created candles which are made from natural rapeseed wax – a much more sustainable option than paraffin. The rapeseed is grown locally in the UK and Europe. They choose not to use beeswax in our candles out of respect for our vegan customers which is amazing.

bags

This belt bag you will have seen styled up on my Instagram, not only can you wear and style it multiple ways, but it’s made from cactus leather. Senreve have beautiful styles and one in particular I have my eyes on is the Cornetti. There’s 4 different types of vegan leathers you can choose from depending on the leather effect you like, from a crocodile texture to embossed.

Vegan fragrance brand Le Labo is a great option for those fragrance lovers, my mum is definitely in that category! They also have their body-hair-face range which has products from shampoos to body oils so a definite must to have a browse to your hearts content.

pyjamas

Another Tekla feature, these beautiful stripe pyjamas. I think I’m going to gift myself these haha! The minimal stripe is just beautiful and they have short sets too all made from organic cotton. Opening these up on Christmas Day would be just dreamy!

If you’re trying to cover that cosy theme, then nothing speaks cosier than a scarf. These super sophisticated scarves from By Malene Birger are perfect to gift, made from responsibly sourced wool, they give any outfit that elevated chic-ness as well as being super toasty.

Something that’s always a must for me when it comes to knitwear is, a super chunky and huge turtle neck and extra long sleeves – these combined make me feel so so cosy and so I had to add these two beautiful jumpers to this guide. The beige being from By Malene Birger and the grey from And Daughter. The And Daughter jumper is made from 100% lambs wool which is hand spun in Scotland, 90% of the yarns they use are sustainably certified, by Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) or RSPCA Approved.

This Weaver Green throw is made completely from recycled plastic bottles but is soft as wool, there’s so many beautiful designs to choose from as well as cushions, rugs and aprons. A must browse if you’re on the hunt for beautiful homeware.

makeup brushes

A luxurious set of vegan travel brushes from Hourglass. A stunning gift that a loved one can take along with them on their holidays and getaways as well as being a mini set for when being at home. All brushes feature high-grade, PETA-approved Taklon bristles. The brush roll is made from quality vegan leather.

Now jewellery, I’m an avid lover of gold jewellery and I have 3 brands here which I love. Vashi is one that I’ve worked with and they create the most beautiful significant pieces with so many options for you to customise to instore designing. Completed Works is a brand I was introduced to while on a press day and oh my goodness I fell in LOVE. The chunky asymmetric minimal designs are so me and they have pearl-based designs which are to just die for. Finally, Alighieri, founder Rosh designs and creates jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri, all made from recycled metals and all locally made.

Another mention to Completed Works, these beautiful vessels by designer Ekaterina. The forms and shapes are just a minimalists dream, I for sure want to add one of these to my home. From having to just a sculpture to holding flowers, it’s just beautiful.

I really hope this guide helped you on your gift search and if there’s anything in particular you’re on the hunt for which I haven’t covered, please do let me know in the comments and I can help you along! Keep an eye out for the final last-minute guide which will be coming next!
