The easiest way to look put together and chic? – Tonal dressing.[/cap_text]

I’ve been seeing it everywhere and I just can’t get enough of it if I’m honest. Such an easy way to make an outfit look like it’s had tones of time and effort put into it, but really, it’s just putting the same shades of hue together in one look. Perfect for those who want something minimal but still look effortless and chic. There’s just something about it that oozes sophistication – and I love that.

You may think, dressing in one colour could possibly look quiet flat and not have much elevation, but I thought I’d write about my 3 absolute favourite ways of dressing in the trend and how these ways could be ideas that could work for you too.

So, my instant colours and tones that I grab for are neutrals – mainly white. But when your clumsy like me, all-white isn’t always going to be your best friend. Overall, muted hues and pale colours are the ones that I tend to style up. But you can go for whatever fit’s your personal style.

One of the very easy ways to wear the trend is with tailoring. You can easily invest in a beautiful suit and that’s your main outfit done. You can pair it with a turtleneck, t-shirt, or a jumper – anything really, dress it up for evening, or down for day. This is definitely the one I go for when I’m after something more sophisticated. I personally like to tackle this genre with different tailored pieces from my wardrobe rather than a two-piece, like a long-line tailored coat, a knit and wide leg trousers. I love how effortless this style looks yet looks like you have your life together haha! This particular way is definitely the way to add interest with shape and silhouettes that work for you and your shape. [/card_text][/image_card]

This is the one where you can really make the outfit interesting; putting together different textures really adds depth and dimension to an outfit & looks really fashion forward. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that satins and knits is my go to combination for this time of year, and that’s with normal looks, not just tonal. I love how something really soft and fluid paired with a chunky structured knit looks – always looks chic! There’s so many beautiful fabrics that can be paired together, faux leather with knits, satins, and you can even add in some animal print for extra interest with accessories, like boots and bags or even scarves. I think this has to be my favourite way to dress in tonal for an everyday look. [/card_text][/image_card]

Definitely the one for those ‘running late’ moments. I think it’s really good to have some co-ords in your wardrobe that you really love, because they are honestly lifesavers in so many ways when it comes to not having much time on your hands. Firstly, you don’t have to ponder on what to wear on top and then decide on what will go on bottom – it’s all there! And secondly it couldn’t be more ideal for the tonal dressing trend as they’re usually designed in one colour. I tend to like the jumper and skirt combinations paired with some boots. But I have been on the hunt for the perfect wide leg co-ordinate set but I’ve not been having much luck (if you’ve seen any then please drop them in your comments!) With co-ords, you also know that you’re going to be ever so comfy and you can add interest by adding texture & print with accessories again. [/card_text][/image_card]

I’d love to know your thoughts on the trend and if you’ve been wearing it then what your go to ways are!
