Just like the term ‘Jorts’ itself being an it word this summer, the longer length denim short style is everywhere. And I’m not complaining at all! I’ve always been a longer length short girl, so for it to be a very popular summer piece is winning for me!
I like to think that it is a wardrobe classic as it’s just the length we’re really talking about, nothing super out there which wouldn’t last in your wardrobe, and if you go for a pair that’s slightly over the knee, then they can be such a cool pair to duo up with tall boots for going into autumn. So definitely a style you can take into other seasons and keep for every year.
I love that something as simple as changing the length can make a piece have a completely different look, and taking a normal short and making them longer, I think brings so much sophistication. Paired with something as simple as a basic white tee and your favourite belt, the wider leg & longer silhouette of the jorts just makes the entire look, look uber street chic. I think also paired with strappy kitten heels and a structured oversized blazer can look extremely slick for an evening ensemble but still having a slightly relaxed feel with the denim.
I’ve put together a little edit of my favourite one’s currently available, as well as including a gorgeous pair I have from Boden that are in the perfect summer wash. I’ve also sneakily got some picks that I have my eyes on to add to basket. I’m after a pair with no distressed details, and more so quite blocky and minimal – love the Arket one’s I’ve linked!
But also! Don’t forget, that with this style also comes with an option of recycling any jeans you may have in your wardrobe that you may have not been reaching for as much. Go searching for them and simple cut off the legs to your desired jorts length – super handy for getting the exact kind of length you want.
I’d love to know if you’ve already been styling these and how? Or if you’ve been wanting to add them to your wardrobe – let me know in the comments!

Shorts are cool esp with long boots.
